Maple Grove held a chess tournament in the library over the few weeks. After a firece battle, Noah Jensen took 1st for 6th grade, and Porter Averett took 2nd place. For 7th grade, Maxwell Hunsakeer too 1st place, and Jordan Coxson took 2nd place. Way to go chess players!
Band students from all the Mapleton schools performed at Maple Mountain High School! We appreciate all the hard work from the students annd the amazing dedication of their teachers! Well done!
Students in Ms. McClellan's Dance 1 and 2 classes had a fun time learning contemporary dance combinations from a guest teacher this week. Each class was taught unique choreography that explored sustained continuous movement qualities.

We are so lucky to have such an amazing group of parents who have supported our school. They plan and carry out activities for the students, meals for teachers for parent-teacher conferences and this year rasised money through a fundrasiser to buy additional lunch tables for students and gave money back to the drama department from concessions at the play. Thank you PTA!

What an amazing evening audiences had as they watched Mrs. Harman’s orchestra students play. Special guest Christian Howes joined the orchestra as students played blues and jazz and improv. Ten students’ artworks were selected to represent Maple Grove Middle School in our Nebo School District Art Show that is on display now till the end of May at the Covey Art Center in Provo. It is quite an honor to have their art hanging in an art gallery. These 10 talented students were: Christian Boran, Shelbie Nelson, Olivia Nackos, Brynn Singleton, Harley Wheeler, Vivian Tew, Caleb Cook, Collin Smith, Caydence Coombs, and Harley Rowbury.
Maple Grove Middle School students were able to attend the annual Super Stars Track and Field Day on Tuesday, May 4, 2023. This track and field event is held for “Super Stars”--Nebo’s special needs students. This event pairs special-needs students throughout the school district with student mentors to participate in track and field events. The high school athletes serve as buddies and mentors during the events, which include 50, 100, 200, and 400 meter races; a 400 meter wheelchair race, long jump, high jump, and softball throw to name a few.
