Battle of the Books

Students at Maple Grove took part in Battle of the Books.  It was a fierce battles with many teams and many wonderful volunteers who helped.  At the end of the contest, the two remaining teams battled for the win. 

The first place team was Hinckley Hasson, Rebekah Dastrup, Jemima Griffin and Leni Cardon.

Second place belongs to Tavin Skinner, Eliza Baker, Emma Martineau, and Nikki Sircable.

Well Done! 

Egyptian Preservation Process

Mrs. Miller’s 6th grade social studies classes “mummified” apples to see what “preserved” them the best. They used various substances to test their theories. They used water, vinegar, sugar, baking soda, baking soda and salt mixed together, and salt. They found that salt (like the ancient Egyptians) preserved them the best.

Lost and Found

There are many items that have been left at school by students. We have the lost items sitting on tables just inside the entry way. Please check and see if these items belong to you or your family.  All unclaimed items will be donated on March 1st.  

District Science Fair Winners

Students from Maple Grove participated in the district science fair.  Eliza Baker and Elizabeth Murdock received a Best in Show.  Sarah Clark also received a Best in Show.  Team Kayli Crookston, Alexandra Larson, Annabelle Nelson, and Ellie Bingham also received a Best in Show award.  Kristina Krivova is a region qualifier and all of these students will be traveling to BYU to the Central Utah Science and Engineering fair that will be held in March. Congratulations scientists.
