On Saturday, December 9th, nearly one hundred mathletes in grades 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th gathered to compete in the 3rd annual Nebo Math Tournament.  Students competed in two individual rounds and one team round covering topics in Arithmetic, Algebra, Geometry and Number Theory.

After the grading was completed, Maple Grove (MGMS) teams received the highest scores for both 6th and 7th grade teams. MGMS was led by 7th grader Carson B. who was the top 7th grader and sixth overall for the day.  He was followed closely by 7th grader Gibson S. who was 8th overall.  The other 7th graders competing with the team were Jimmy S. (16th overall), Calder M. and Carsyn C.  For the 6th grade team, Landon H. was the second highest scoring 6th grader at the competition, and Steven G. was third.  The other 6th graders competing with the team were Alex K., Ethan H. and Evelyn J.

The top 16 students overall competed in the final round of the competition, a head-to head bracket round, and MGMS had the second most students of all the schools with 3 (Carson B., Gibson S., and Jimmy S.)  In the bracket round, Carson and Jimmy were eliminated early, but Gibson advanced all the way to the semi-finals (top 4).  Congratulations to all of the mathletes!
